Privacy Policy

How EPL Appliance Repairs collects, uses and protects personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.

Last updated: 26 July 2026

This policy applies to EPL Appliance Repairs (Electro Power Link). It does not invent corporate identifiers we have not published elsewhere on this site. For booking, portal, B2B or call products, also check the notices on those services.

1. Who we are

This Privacy Policy explains how EPL Appliance Repairs (trading name of Electro Power Link) (“we”, “us”, “our”) handles personal information when you use our marketing website at www.eplappliancerepairs.com.au, contact us, apply for a job, or interact with our customer-service channels for in-home appliance repair across Sydney, NSW.
We operate from Marsfield and Bella Vista. You can reach us at info@eplappliances.com.au, (02) 9000 1148, or 1300 375 000.
We respect the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). This policy is written in plain language so you can see what we collect, why, and how to ask for access or correction.

2. Scope of this policy

This policy covers personal information collected through this website (https://www.eplappliancerepairs.com.au), including our careers application form, on-site FAQ chat, and any analytics we may enable on this site.
Separate online services we link to — including booking (book.eplappliances.com.au), the customer portal (portal.eplappliances.com.au), B2B (b2b.eplappliances.com.au), and our callback request form (call.eplappliances.com.au) — are operated as distinct services. When you leave this marketing site for those products, their own notices and practices apply to the information you provide there. We still receive and use job and service-related information as described below when you deal with us as a business.

3. What we collect

We only collect personal information that is reasonably necessary for our functions — mainly arranging appliance repairs, answering enquiries, recruiting technicians and office staff, and improving this website.
Contact and enquiries. If you email or call us, we may hold your name, phone number, email address, suburb or address, appliance details, and the content of your message. This website’s contact page primarily directs you to book or call; it does not currently host a separate contact form.
Careers applications. When you apply via /careers we collect your name, phone, email, role of interest, cover note, and optional resume (PDF or Word). Submissions are emailed to us (via Resend) and may also trigger an SMS alert to our recruiting contact (via Twilio).
Booking and calling. Online booking and web calling happen on the book and call subdomains listed above. Those services collect the details needed to schedule or connect a call (for example name, contact details, address and appliance information). We use that information to deliver the repair or respond to your enquiry.
On-site chat. Our website chat is a local FAQ helper. It answers from published site content and does not send your messages to a live agent or third-party chatbot provider. Messages stay in your browser session unless you later contact us by another channel.
Technical and analytics data. Like most websites, our host (Vercel) may process standard server logs such as IP address, user agent, and requested URLs for security and reliability. We may enable Google Analytics (or similar) in future; if we do, it may collect usage metrics such as pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP, device/browser type, and referral source. Analytics identifiers are not used to sell your information.

4. How we use personal information

We use personal information to:
  • respond to enquiries and provide quotes or repair services;
  • schedule visits, communicate about jobs, and follow up on work;
  • assess job applications and contact candidates;
  • operate, secure and improve this website;
  • meet legal, insurance and record-keeping obligations;
  • analyse aggregated site usage (if analytics are enabled) so we can improve content and accessibility.
We do not sell personal information.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

This site may use cookies or similar technologies that are necessary for basic operation (for example load balancing or security) via our hosting platform. If we enable analytics, additional cookies or local storage identifiers may be set by that provider so we can understand how the site is used.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect site features. Third-party booking, portal, B2B and call services may set their own cookies when you use them.

6. Who we share information with

We disclose personal information only where needed to run our business or where the law requires it. Typical recipients include:
  • Resend — email delivery for careers applications and related transactional mail;
  • Twilio — SMS alerts when a careers application is received;
  • Vercel — hosting and edge delivery of this website;
  • operators of our booking, portal, B2B and call services when you use those products;
  • manufacturers or parts suppliers where needed for authorised warranty or parts work;
  • professional advisers (for example accountants or lawyers) and insurers under confidentiality obligations;
  • regulators or law enforcement when we are legally required to disclose information.
Service providers are engaged to process information on our behalf or to deliver a function you requested. We take reasonable steps to ensure they handle information consistently with this policy and Australian privacy law.

7. Overseas disclosure

Some providers we use store or process data outside Australia. In particular, website hosting and related infrastructure may involve processing in the United States (for example via Vercel). Email and SMS providers may also process data in overseas locations depending on their infrastructure.
Where we disclose personal information overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient does not breach the APPs in relation to that information (APP 8), or we rely on another permitted basis under the Privacy Act.

8. Storage and retention

We hold personal information in electronic systems (including email, SMS alerts, and systems used for job scheduling) and take reasonable steps to protect it from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.
We keep information only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, for legitimate business records (for example job history or recruitment), or as required by law. Careers applications that do not progress are typically retained for a limited recruitment period and then deleted or de-identified, unless we need to keep them longer for legal reasons. When information is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.

9. Access and correction (APP 12 & 13)

You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading. Email info@eplappliances.com.au with “Privacy request” in the subject line and enough detail for us to identify you and locate the records.
We will respond within a reasonable time. In limited cases we may refuse access or correction where the Privacy Act allows; if so, we will explain why (unless it is unreasonable to do so) and tell you how to complain.

10. Complaints

If you are concerned about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first at info@eplappliances.com.au. We will investigate and respond as promptly as we reasonably can.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC): oaic.gov.au.

11. Children’s privacy

Our services are aimed at adults arranging appliance repairs or employment. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children for marketing or recruitment through this website. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time — for example if we enable analytics, add a contact form, or change providers. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continued use of the site after an update means you should review the revised policy.
